In cooperation with Salta art, the Brazilian-based artist Gabriela Mureb is artist-in-residence at Ebenböckhaus in Munich between July and September 2023. She will provide insights into her work at FLORIDA Lothringer 13. Gabriela Mureb explores the appropriation of industrial parts to create works that move between sculpture, installation, performance, and sound. She interrogates how machines, in their form and movement, contain information about the context and the bodies they produce. Thus, she makes the viewer aware of the political implications of their invention, production, and use.
FLORIDA is a collaborative art space run by a changing three- to four-member committee that publishes the FLORIDA Magazine annually. The curatorial practice is understood as one of power critique and solidarity, focusing on artistic and collective productions from emancipatory contexts. In addition to readings, screenings, workshops, performances, and exhibitions, FLORIDA opens its spaces primarily for gatherings for collective reading, eating, listening, discussing, struggling, manifesting, and drinking tea. Occasionally, the events take place decentrally at other locations and with changing cooperation partners and accomplices.
Salta art is an independent non-profit arts organization that seeks to foster the exchange of ideas between South America and Germany. Salta art supports residencies, talks, performances, exhibitions and research to encourage a dialogue among artists, curators, cultural producers and art enthusiasts. In that way, Salta art aims to provide opportunities for collaborations and to develop mutual understanding.

Die in Brasilien lebende Künstlerin Gabriela Mureb ist in Kooperation mit Salta art zwischen Juli und September 2023 als Artist in Residence im Ebenböckhaus in München zu Gast und wird im FLORIDA Lothringer 13 Einblicke in ihre Arbeit geben. Gabriela Mureb beschäftigt sich mit der Aneignung von Industrieteilen, um Werke zu schaffen, die sich zwischen Skulptur, Installation, Performance und Sound bewegen. Sie hinterfragt, wie Maschinen in ihrer Form und Bewegung Informationen über den Kontext und die Körper enthalten, die sie produzieren. Auf diese Weise macht sie den Betrachter auf die politischen Implikationen ihrer Erfindung, Produktion und Verwendung aufmerksam.
FLORIDA ist ein kollaborativer Kunstraum, der von einem wechselnden drei- bis vierköpfigen Komitee geleitet wird und jährlich das FLORIDA Magazin herausgibt. Salta art ist eine unabhängige, gemeinnützige Kunstorganisation, die den Ideenaustausch zwischen Südamerika und Deutschland fördern und stärken möchte. Salta Art unterstützt Künstler:innenresidenzen, Gespräche, Performances, Ausstellungen und Forschung, um den Dialog zwischen Künstler:innen, Kurator:innen, Kulturgestaltenden und Kunstinteressierten zu fördern. So schafft Salta art Möglichkeiten zur Zusammenarbeit und ein größeres gegenseitiges Verständnis.
